No Falls Week Campaign

Introduction

The 18th of May marked the start of No Falls Week, and one of our clients invited us to support the initiative with a dedicated programme focused on raising awareness of working at height safety at their Birmingham site. The week combined training activities, practical demonstrations, and workforce engagement to reinforce safe working practices and promote a positive safety culture.

Events throughout the week included:

  • MEWPs Focus – A training presentation followed by a live safety demonstration on the safe use and operation of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs).
  • Hierarchy of Fall Prevention – An interactive training session exploring how to apply the hierarchy of controls when planning and carrying out work at height activities.
  • Leading Edge Prevention – A focused session on identifying, managing, and preventing falls from unprotected edges on platforms, floors, and structures during work at height, supported by practical activities.
  • Behavioural Safety – A workshop examining behavioural safety principles and the importance of positive decision-making when working at height.
  • Celebrating the Week – A closing event featuring quizzes, prizes, and giveaways to recognise participation and reinforce key learning points.

The sessions were delivered to multiple groups throughout each day, ensuring broad engagement across the site. To encourage participation, all quiz entrants were entered into a prize draw, with one contractor selected at random to receive a reward for taking part in the week’s activities.

Throughout the week, we continued to share guidance, practical resources, and awareness activities designed to support safer working environments and strengthen the importance of fall prevention across all levels of the workforce.
